Most sessions run at golden hour, outdoors, and stay loose on purpose. Kids get to be kids, nobody has to hold a pose for long, and the frames that end up mattering are usually the ones between the setups — a laugh, a look, a hand reaching over.
Sessions happen all across Southern California. If you have a spot that means something to your family, that is almost always a better backdrop than anywhere I would pick on my own.
